I'm over at Zing.net

Photo adds

While most of my blogging will be done over at dodoskido.com still, I'm going to me mirroring my flickr photos here over the next month or so to get around China's firewall.

As for the latest update with Hongyun and I:

After my last day with Microsoft, I took a month off to study for and take the GMAT.  I applied but got denied at Berkeley's Haas School of Business.  I later found out that I need to:

Have more recent extracurricular activities with leadership roles
Bump my math score on the GMAT a bit (I almost ace'd the verbal and essay section, but didn't do that well on the math)

After that, I started with a company called Zing in late February 2007.  We build connected MP3 players and shipped Sandisk's Sansa Connect - the first ever wifi MP3 player that can download songs directly from the Internet without a PC.  This requires a Yahoo Music Subscription and works nicely with Yahoo Launchcast (you can stream LaunchCast directly to the device and if you like a song, you can say "Get this Song" or "Get this Album" and the Sansa Connect will do so immediately).  Anyway, the Sansa Connect is only $150 now so go out and grab a few!  Oh yeah:  you can pop in a microSD/HC card and up the storage as well...tre bien.

In July 2007, Hongyun and I took a whole month (almost) to travel to Europe.  We spent most of our time in Italy with a week in Holland and a few days baking in Greece.  NEVER go to Greece in the summer.  ever.

In August 2007, Zing was acquired by Dell (woohoo!).  Not sure what's going to happen there yet, but it's certainly exciting.

As for Hongyun, she is in her final year at Cal and is working towards figuring out what to do after she graduates.  Go Bears!

Last Day at Microsoft

So yeah...last Friday was my last at Microsoft.  I wish all of the teams I've worked on (MSNTV, MSNTV2, Windows Live for TV, and MSN Mobile) the best of luck in all they do.  These guys really are trying to make really cool software and are some of the nicest, geekiest, and smartest people you'll meet.

Of course I'll still be around now and again with those friends I've made over the years, but it won't be the same in my estimation.

Talking about Talking about Welcome to the Windows Live for TV "$Orbit"$ team blog

It's out!  Ron and Matt with a tiny bit of my help pushed out the WL for TV beta.  Actually I would say it is in a pre-beta phase as a lot of it is still being worked on and there are loads of scenarios and other things that we haven't tested yet.

At any rate, I'm glad to see it out and in the hands of those who are on the bleeding edge and like to play with oddities of software as I do.

Talking about Apple legal sends little girl running, crying to room

This is hilarious.  Apple does not take unsolicited suggestions?  So how about everyone send in their suggestions to Apple via snail mail and just overload their "we don't want your ideas" department?
